Well, hello!

Welcome to the brand new Franchise Projects blog, and indeed, welcome to Franchise Projects.

Having spent many years in the franchise industry, I know there are some amazingly good services out there (and unfortunately some less good ones too).

I love this industry, and have worked both as a franchisee and as a franchisor.

What I feel is missing was that extra pair of hands, a safe pair that understands the industry and can take on tasks specific to franchising, allowing management to focus on growing the business. A ‘temp’ just can’t be expected to skill up in time to deliver, and often practical things that could be done by someone else with a good level of knowledge land back on a director’s desk.

For example, a franchise manual is the business ‘Bible’. A good one is invaluable, but they take a long time to write and get right, and by the time they see light of day, the writer can often be ‘sick to the teeth’ of it.

Enter Franchise Projects – a practical resource prepared to take on the hard work whilst understanding who needs to input what, and having the people skills to go and get it. This takes a massive load from directors, allowing them to give direction knowing that the material will be accurately and professionally produced.

My vision for Franchise Projects is to develop a network of trusted professionals, each professionals in their field, each with a great ethos and an understanding of the specific needs of franchises. I have already worked with many of the people I plan to include in the delivery teams, and am excited to be working with them again.

I plan on placing occasional blogs here of interest to the customers we serve, some of whom we’ll know and others we won’t – yet.

The journey ahead is simultaneously exciting and frightening. It’s a step into the unknown. I know a service like this is much needed, but I also know that when asked the question ‘what do you do?’ and the answer comes back ‘anything to support a franchise’, it’s too vague.

We’ve put together a list of likely support needs as ‘services’ (here). I am certain that this list will grow as people’s needs become clearer and they realise what we can do for them.

Thank you for joining us on this first step in our journey. Like all businesses, I’m sure that what we have planned on paper will be miles away from where we originally thought as the business environment changes and our customers’ needs change.

And welcome….
